Flames into Phoenix

Cover for my school's school paper called "De Feniks", meaning "The Phoenix". Uploading this before it has been publishes BECAUSE I CAN- *cough* Uhh the deadline for sending stuff is tomorrow but I don't feel like waiting 2 months. It always takes a while after the deadline before it's published D:

Because of the name I wanted it to have a phoenix it it, but DAMN THAT'S HARD ;A; Seriously, combining a person and a phoenix in 1 drawing and having them interacting and with a good composition, and so that both boys and girls and grown-ups will like the drawing.. THAT'S SO HARD!!;; I made 7 sketches before I changed one of the sketches into this one. I was happy with the girl but not with the phoenix and ended up cropping the sketch to half and making the phoenix about 7 times as small, and from fire and such. Buuut I'm really happy with this!

In the end I'm extremely happy with this drawing! I was quite late with the drawing so I didn't had any time to ask for tips by the sketch, but immidentally went to line it :c So I guess some things might be off, but I'm still proud! I really think the coloring did the trick here Also I like her expression, the color scheme, her pose, the phoenix' face, her hands, her hair and her outfit.. uhh that's about everything .__.;; Woops I guess I'm just really satisfied with this!;;

Has been a while since I uploaded some full artwork that isn't a year or a few months old, isn't a paperchild, isn't mainly linework, isn't only a small full work, etc xD So uhh.. enjoy! 8'D
